View in Tiếng ViệtThis Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar storage technologies used on venglish.space and how you can control them. It complements our Privacy Policy.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. Cookies allow the site to recognise your device, remember preferences, and collect information about your usage. We also use the browser's local storage, which serves a similar function but stores data only locally.
2. Categories of cookies we use
We aim to use the minimum cookies necessary. The current categories are:
- Strictly necessary: required for the Services to function (e.g. security and load-balancing tokens set by Cloudflare to serve the site). These cannot be disabled.
- Preferences (local storage): the key venglish.locale.preauth stores your language choice so the site remembers it. This is local-only and is not transmitted to our servers.
- Analytics (Google Analytics 4): cookies set by Google (e.g. _ga, _ga_<MEASUREMENT_ID>) used to measure traffic and improve the Services. IP addresses are truncated. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or by enabling "Do Not Track" in browsers that support it.
We do not currently use advertising or behavioural-tracking cookies.
3. Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by third parties we work with: Google (Analytics) and Cloudflare (hosting, security & analytics). These cookies are governed by those third parties' own policies. See google.com/policies/privacy and cloudflare.com/privacypolicy for details.
4. How to control cookies
- Most browsers let you view, manage, and delete cookies via settings. See your browser's help for instructions.
- You can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on to disable measurement by Google Analytics across websites: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- You can clear local storage by clearing site data in your browser. This will reset your language preference.
Disabling strictly-necessary cookies will impair functionality (e.g. signing in to admin tooling).
5. Consent
We currently rely on legitimate interest for analytics cookies that store only pseudonymous identifiers and truncated IP addresses, in line with light-touch implementations recognised by some EU regulators. If you are in a jurisdiction that requires explicit prior consent for any non-essential cookie, please disable those cookies via your browser before proceeding. We are working to add a full consent banner.
6. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy as our cookie usage changes. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. For questions, contact contact@venglish.space.
